My latest page designing for
Boys
Products used - Kaisercraft Technologic paper, stickers and collectables, Dusty Attic? Chipboard, Tim Holtz Silver Crackle paint, Black Stazon. This was a very challenging layout for me. I don't often work with papers that are very robotic like this range, choosing to work with vintage or brights instead and It really pushed me to create something different. This photo is of my husband and son, standing in front of a boring background which really didn't show the emotion in the moment so I edited to make it more interesting.
Having said that it was so much fun to work with the chicken wire chippy. I wanted it to be a metal finish without just being silver paint so I used Tim Holtz Metallic Crackle then rubbed black Stazon over it to make it more rustic and flat. Cutting it up was really foreign for me as I usually keep my chipboard elements whole but it really didn't fit the page as one piece. This will be a technique that I will be doing a lot more of with my other chipboard elements. It was so easy, effective and economical to cut it up and make one piece stretch further.
I hope you pop on over to An Invitation to Scrap and check out the awesome range of chippies Deb has on offer. Try stepping out of your comfort zone too and chop them up. I know you want to ;)
